CIBB 2026 includes a social program on the afternoon and evening of Thursday, September 3: a guided walk through some of the most remarkable sites in Rome, followed by the conference social dinner in the historic center of the city.

Two alternative walking itineraries are available. Both are led by members of the organizing committee, are open to all registered participants, and converge at the same destination: Piazza del Campidoglio, where the social dinner will be held at Terrazza Caffarelli.

From the Colosseum to the Capitoline Hill

A walk through the monumental heart of imperial Rome, from the Flavian Amphitheatre along the Imperial Fora to Piazza del Campidoglio.

Social Dinner

Join us for the conference social dinner

Both guided walks end at Terrazza Caffarelli, within the Capitoline Museums complex, overlooking the Roman Forum and the rooftops of the city. The dinner is included in full registrations; student and retired registrants may add access separately, subject to availability.

Practical Information

• Both walks take place on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in the afternoon (exact time to be confirmed).
• No booking is required: simply join the group at the meeting point of your chosen itinerary.
• Both itineraries are approximately 1.5-2 hours long and end at Piazza del Campidoglio, in time for the social dinner.
• Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, as both routes include some uneven pavement and gentle inclines.
