Detailed formatting guidelines, templates, and the EasyChair submission link are available in the dedicated submission section of the conference website.

Main Tracks and Special Sessions:

CIBB 2026 is organized around three main tracks:

  • Bioinformatics
  • Biostatistics
  • Medical Informatics

In addition, approved Special Sessions will be included in the scientific program. Submissions to Special Sessions follow the same procedures, formats, and deadlines as regular short paper submissions.

The detailed list of topics for each main track, as well as the complete list of approved Special Sessions, is available .

Publication Opportunities:

All accepted short papers presented at the conference will be invited to submit extended versions either to the Springer Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (LNBI) proceedings or to high-impact journals across the areas represented at CIBB. Further details on partner journals will be announced on the conference website.

Call for Special Session Proposals

We are pleased to announce that the Call for Special Session Proposals for CIBB 2026 is now open. Special Sessions provide focused forums on emerging research directions or well-defined thematic areas within the scope of the conference. Both new proposals and updated versions of previously organized Special Sessions are welcome, in order to promote continuity, innovation, and scientific impact.

Once a Special Session proposal is approved, paper submissions will open together with the regular Call for Short Papers. At submission time, authors will be able to choose whether to submit their short paper to one of the main tracks or to a specific approved Special Session. Submissions to Special Sessions will follow the same procedures, formats, and deadlines as regular short paper submissions.

Key Information:

  • Submission deadline: February 12th, 2026
  • Each Special Session must include at least 4 accepted papers. In the event that fewer papers are accepted, they will be incorporated into the conference’s main tracks.
  • The conference will provide a dedicated webpage for each approved Special Session. This page may be used by the proposers to advertise the session, present its scope and objectives, and disseminate information to the research community.
  • Approved Special Sessions will also be promoted through the official CIBB 2026 communication channels and social media profiles, in coordination with the session proposers.
  • A Special Session may include one invited speaker, subject to approval by the Scientific Committee. The invited speaker should be a recognized expert with a strong record of contributions to the proposed topic, and should be external from the proposing committee of the special session.
Note: the participation of invited speakers in Special Sessions is not financially supported by the CIBB 2026 conference and should rely on external or institutional funding.

Proposer Restrictions:

  • Special Session chairs (up to two selected from the proposers) may be among the co-authors, but cannot present any submitted work in the session they are chairing.

How to Submit:

Special Session proposals must be submitted through the following .
